Grammarly has become my number 1 tool when it comes to editing and proofreading my posts and writing work. As a Community Manager, I have to post many different texts on Social Media, and it is easy to misspell a word. Grammarly catches it in a second and recommends me the right word. It also gives me suggestions of synonyms I can use instead. I first signed up for the free account, and it worked perfectly for me. I could even have installed it on Chrome and have my emails revised, as well as download the app for Microsoft Word. It catches more mistakes than Word. I am thrilled to have it.

I mentioned that I had the free version. However, I had the opportunity to test the Premium feature for free for a whole month, and I am going to stick with it because it´s just too good!

You can have a free week of Grammarly Premium as well if you want to check it out for yourself.

Is it Grammarly for me?

If your life revolves around Grammarly, then yes. You need it. And I will tell you why.

First of all, Grammarly will help you with your writing, and you will learn from the mistakes you make. Sometimes, we don´t even realize how many times we repeat a word. Grammarly will display alternatives to that repeated word and warm you when have used it repeatedly.

If you are a student, I also recommend you Grammarly. I have used the free version while I was in college for my papers. Let me tell you that I should have upgraded at that time; my papers would have been much better because I tend to repeat words and use passive voice a lot. It would of have been some great feature to use back then. So, if you are now in college and think you can improve your papers, try Grammarly Premium, and you will love the results.

If you are a blogger or a freelance writer, this is your tool. I use it every day, even for my emails. I don´t like to send emails with misspelt words. Back to the blogger part, I use Grammarly to edit and proofread my post and the post of the other writers I work. It is important to have an editing tool like Grammarly to make sure your content is not only original (verifiable with the plagiarism tool), but also free of mistakes. Nobody wants to find grammar errors in a published article or post. Your site will start decreasing professionality and lose the trust of your readers.

Another great thing about Grammarly, is that because your content is proven to be original and free of mistakes will rank higher on Search Engines, and it will give you push with your traffic. Pretty good if you ask me!

Grammarly Free VS Grammarly Premium

As I mentioned before, there is the option to have the free version of Grammarly. However, you will be missing outstanding features that will help your writing. If you are a freelance writer, college student or a blogger I recommend upgrading to Premium.

What does a Grammarly Premium  account include:

  • It includes a Plagiarism feature (Great for Academic Essays)
  • Vocabulary Enhancement
  • Genre tool for each particular writing situation
  • Advanced writing issues tool, more in-depth than the free grammar check.

Grammarly Premium costs $29.95 a month. I know it can sound a little pricey, but there are other options that will make it more affordable.

You can choose among three plans: Monthly, Quarterly and Annual.

As you can see, the longer your plan last, the best deal you get. With the annual plan, you will be saving $18.29 per month. It´s more than 50% off!

Try a free week of Grammarly Premium and check it out for yourself.

Why is it worth it?

English is my second language, and sometimes I get confused with some spelling or even prepositions. “In” and “On” used to make me have hard times while writing. But not anymore!

I also like the fact that it doesn’t only correct your grammar mistakes, it tells you if a word fits or not in the context you are writing.

Besides spelling errors, that Word can help you with too, Grammarly helps me with the passive voice. I didn´t know how much I used it until I set up Grammarly… If you write for a blog, it is also an excellent resource to have, because it will affect the readability of your content. In other words, how easy or difficult your text is to read. If you have many sentences written in the passive voice, it’s considered to be harder to read that if you just have a few.

I am sure that my content is original and ready to help many other writers. I don´t have to worry about having mistakes because Grammarly checks them for me and warns me when something is not right.

So, what do you think? Will you start using Grammarly?

If you do, let me know your thoughts and let’s have a conversation!

Thank you for stopping by and spending the time to read my post!

See you soon!

  1. I just recently started using grammarly. I’m on the free version for now, but once it’s in the budget I may upgrade to the premium. It corrects things that I’ve been doing wrong my entire life!!

    • That is right, I do that too. Helps a lot to make sure you are putting your thoughts in order and your content is great 🙂

  2. I’ve seen so many posts that could benefit from this! Better to get the help you need than have your content be less than enjoyable to read.
Do they have this for other languages? I’ve been considering doing some blogging outside of my native language to practice, but I’m a bit scared of being really hard to read.

    • That is a good question Rika! I should include it in the post. Right now it only lets me pick between American or British English. I am not sure if they have other languages in mind for the future. It will definitely be a great new feature. I also write in Spanish, and even though I feel more confident than in English, it will be great to have an extra help just in case.
      Thank for stopping by!

  3. I’m using the free version and it is great for helping with proof reading stuff, the premium version is very costly it’s a shame as a hobby blogger I simply cannot justify the cost.

    • That is true. It was the same for me. Luckily now that I am working and I can afford the annual plan. Thanks for visiting!

  4. I really need to look into this! I’ve heard about it but never really took the time to learn about it. Now I’m definitely checking it out. Thanks!

  5. I just downloaded the free version and it is wonderful! I was embarrassed to go back and see how many errors popped up in my old posts. I just might have to check out the premium version. The annual rate isn’t too bad. Thank you for the review!

    • I know… It happened to me too. Better late than never 🙂 Glad you like the review. You are going to love the premium version!

    • That is so true Nita, your grammar improves a lot using Grammarly!
Thanks for coming to the blog 🙂
